FROM POLAND

Hi,

We also celebrate the school days but in the different manner. Our annual tradition is the song festival, so the students perform their favourite songs in English or German. They also take part in various sport games and competitions.
I'm sending you a video from this year song contest.

Danuta

100 DAYS OF SCHOOL

Next 19th of February, Labordeta School from Zaragoza-Spain, is going to celebrate 100 days of school. It is a great way to celebrate the various mathematical concepts that can be taught using the number 100.
From the very first day of school, classes beging keeping track of the number of days they’ve been in school in anticipation of the 100th day. It’s this anticipation that is actually the first math lesson, paving the way to counting by tens and ones.
It is a way to look back and remember how far they have come in school-especially for the younger grades.  It can help their self esteem by showing that they have made it. It commemorates the fact that these kids have done so much hard work and that they have learned so much throughout the year.
100 days marks an important milestone of the year, one which showcases how far they have come in their grades.

Videos and photos coming soon....

Do you have a similar celebration in your school / country??
